Apple Blossom Wovens Soulshine Burgundy Never Grow Up Boutique Exclusive Weft, Released in June 2018
In December 2016, we held a design contest to select the next Signature Line warp. Lindsay Brunner designed the winning mock-up, and she shared with us the inspiration for both the design and the name:
"There’s always been something about the Allman Brothers song Soulshine that picks me up on the toughest days. This mock-up was based emotionally off the song and visually off the purple Lotus Flower, a plant that rises and blooms out of murky water every day to a bright and vibrant flower. Just as the flower blooms fresh daily, we as caretakers have the opportunity to do the same. We pick ourselves up when life seems to be crashing around us and we somehow find a way to let our souls shine to be the light in someone else’s day. The vibrant pink, purple, and yellow of the Lotus flower are also the colors that reflect the strength inside me- my “soulshine” if you will. I’m beyond honored to have this little reflection of the strength I’ve found inside myself made into an ABW wrap that will continue to help me carry- literally and figuratively- through those toughest days."
Soulshine is the fifth design in our Signature Line, and is the first Signature release that will have hemmed instead of unhemmed rails. Because this eliminates the labor intensive process of hand-weaving the bobbin change threads back in, these prices are set lower than previous Signature releases.
As always, the Maurice Brassard yarns are amazingly soft, especially for a linen blend! The point twill weave structure gives just the right amount of support, while still being airy enough to stay cool on these hot summer days.
